On August 7, 1997 we started off the Summer trip at the New York Steam Engine Association's Pageant of Steam. This show is held at the club grounds on Gehan Road off Route 5&20 3 miles East of Canandaigua, NY. We had been here a couple of years ago for a short visit, but now that the engine bug has bitten, we were here for the whole weekend. I spent too much time looking and talking and too little time taking photos.
Their show grounds are huge, with space for a completely separate general flea market, tractor area, steam engine area and gas engine area. The show includes threshing, a saw mill, Corliss and Woodbury steam engines, and a shingle mill. Space is available for campers and motor homes.
